HERMES PAN... Started his career as a chorus dancer on Broadway in the late 20's.  The show closed and he wisely decided to leave the Big Apple and try his luck on the West Coast where the major studios were doing big musical extravaganzas.  While dancing on FLYING DOWN TO RIO, Fred Astaire, who was featured in that film, noticed the industrious Hermes and chose him to be his stand-in.  From then on, Fred Astaire never worked without Hermes at his side.  Hermes Pan wasn't that great a dancer but he had incredible ideas for dances.  They worked brilliantly together and socially Hermes became one of the family.  There isn't one Fred Astaire film without the credits listing Hermes Pas as choreographer and deservedly, too.
